Steve Sailer DD will perform a clinical assessment, explain your options in plain language, and provide a written quote before any work begins. We direct-bill to most major insurance providers and to Sun Life for CDCP-eligible patients. Same-day walk-in assessments and denture repairs are welcome - call ahead for repairs so we can fit you into the day.
What to Bring to Your Consultation
Your initial consultation is free and there is nothing required to bring. However, having the following information makes the appointment more productive:
- Your current dentures, if you wear them
- A list of any medications you currently take
- Your insurance card or benefits booklet (for billing purposes)
- Your CDCP eligibility confirmation or Sun Life member number, if applicable
- Any X-rays or dental records from your dentist, if available
- A list of questions or concerns you want to discuss
If you are coming to see about immediate dentures (placed on the same day as extractions), let us know in advance so we can schedule appropriately. Coordination with your dentist or oral surgeon may be required.

Caring for Your Dentures
Daily Cleaning
- Remove and rinse after meals
- Brush daily with a soft denture brush
- Use non-abrasive denture cleanser only
- Rinse your mouth and gums with warm water
Overnight Storage
- Remove dentures before sleeping
- Soak in water or denture solution
- Do not let dentures dry out completely
- Rinse before reinserting in the morning

After treatment, we submit the claim directly to your insurance company. You only pay the portion not covered by your plan at the time of service.

How do I clean and care for my new dentures?
Remove and rinse dentures after meals, brush daily with a soft denture brush and non-abrasive denture cleanser (regular toothpaste is too harsh), and soak overnight in water or denture solution to prevent the acrylic from drying out. Hold dentures over a folded towel when cleaning so a slip does not break them. Avoid bending the metal clasps on partial dentures.

What if my new dentures hurt or feel loose?
Minor sore spots and a "tight" feeling are normal during the first two weeks as your mouth adjusts. Brief adjustment visits resolve these quickly and are included in your care. If your dentures suddenly feel loose after months or years of comfortable wear, a reline is usually the answer - not a new denture. Call us and we will assess.
