After 32 years in business, North Hill earned our trust the moment we walked in. My new dentures fit better than I ever expected and the whole process was painless.

Everything you need to know before, during, and after your appointment at our Calgary clinic - what to bring, what to expect, how insurance works, and how to care for your dentures.
Quick answer
Your first appointment at North Hill Denture Clinic is a free consultation - no referral required. Bring your current dentures if you wear them, your insurance information, and any medications list. Steve Sailer DD will perform a clinical assessment, explain your options in plain language, and provide a written quote before any work begins. We direct-bill to most major insurance providers and to Sun Life for CDCP-eligible patients. Same-day walk-in assessments and denture repairs are welcome - call ahead for repairs so we can fit you into the day.
Your initial consultation is free and there is nothing required to bring. However, having the following information makes the appointment more productive:
If you are coming to see about immediate dentures (placed on the same day as extractions), let us know in advance so we can schedule appropriately. Coordination with your dentist or oral surgeon may be required.
To save time at your appointment, you can fill out our new patient form in advance. Print, complete, sign, and bring it with you to your first visit.
You can book online using the form on our website, or call us directly at (403) 282-6126.
We are open Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm (with a lunch break from noon to 1pm) and Friday 8am to noon. No referral is required.
We make the insurance process as simple as possible. Here is how it works:
Bring your benefits card, group number, and member ID to your appointment. We accept most major insurers.
For most denture services, we submit a pre-treatment estimate to your insurer before any work begins. This confirms exactly what will be covered and what your out-of-pocket cost will be.
After treatment, we submit the claim directly to your insurance company. You only pay the portion not covered by your plan at the time of service.
We direct-bill to most major Canadian dental insurers. If you are unsure about your coverage, bring your benefits booklet and we will help you understand it. See our denture pricing page for more on how insurance and the CDCP apply.

Common questions about your first visit to our Calgary clinic.
No. Denturists in Alberta are primary care providers for denture services. You can book a consultation directly with Steve Sailer DD at North Hill Denture Clinic without a referral from a dentist or physician.
Your first appointment is a free consultation that typically takes 30 to 45 minutes. Steve reviews your dental and medical history, performs a clinical assessment of your mouth, discusses the realistic options for your case in plain language, and provides a written quote for each option. No work is started without your written agreement on the plan and cost.
Bring your current dentures (if you wear them), a list of any medications you take, your insurance card or benefits booklet, your CDCP eligibility confirmation if applicable, and any X-rays or dental records you have. Filling out the new patient form in advance is helpful but not required.
Yes. Walk-ins are welcome for assessments, denture repairs, and minor adjustments. For new dentures or implant prosthetics, a booked consultation gives Steve the time he needs for a thorough assessment. Call ahead if you are coming for a same-day repair so we can fit you into the day's repair list.
Yes. Our Calgary clinic is fully wheelchair accessible - the entrance, washroom, and treatment rooms can all accommodate wheelchair users. Free parking is available directly out front, and the clinic is located on a main Calgary Transit bus route.
We direct-bill to most major Canadian dental insurance providers. Coverage amounts and frequency limits vary by plan. Bring your benefits card or booklet and we will check your coverage and obtain any required pre-authorization before treatment begins. We are also an enrolled provider for the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
Remove and rinse dentures after meals, brush daily with a soft denture brush and non-abrasive denture cleanser (regular toothpaste is too harsh), and soak overnight in water or denture solution to prevent the acrylic from drying out. Hold dentures over a folded towel when cleaning so a slip does not break them. Avoid bending the metal clasps on partial dentures.
Minor sore spots and a "tight" feeling are normal during the first two weeks as your mouth adjusts. Brief adjustment visits resolve these quickly and are included in your care. If your dentures suddenly feel loose after months or years of comfortable wear, a reline is usually the answer - not a new denture. Call us and we will assess.
